Bonefish Grill comes to Lake Grove

We love when new businesses open on Long Island, especially new restaurants.  Who doesn’t like a little boost to the economy, and new options for locals to try out?  The Long Island Mamas was  recently invited to come “try out” the newest Bonefish Grill location on Long Island at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.  We thank Bonefish for the opportunity; what follows is LiMamas’ writer Shannon Ofsharick’s review.

My husband and I had the opportunity to have dinner at Bonefish Grill in Lake Grove. We went on a Thursday night, and could not have been more impressed with the food, atmosphere, and service. They had a decent crowd for a Thursday night, including adults and children of all ages.  We had decided to leave our two year old daughter at home with grandma for an “adult night out”, but when I asked to see a children’s menu, I was presented with a children’s booklet! It had pages and pages of activities to keep the little ones busy, along with a children’s menu that had many dinner options to choose from.

Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu options, and the servers all took the orders on iPads.

We started our meal off with a fresh apple martini, a beer, artisan bread, and the recommended “bang bang shrimp tacos.” The shrimp had a little too much of a “kick” for me (I do not like spicy foods), but my husband loved them.

The manager recommended I try the fresh pear martini, and I am so glad she did, because it was delicious.

For dinner, I had the tilapia with spaghetti squash and potatoes au gratin, and my husband had the ahi tuna steak with spaghetti squash and herbed couscous. Both meals were a hit, even for my husband who generally does not like to eat “healthy” foods. We were able to sample the many signature sauces that are available with the meal. The lime tomato garlic and the pan Asian sauce were definite favorites.

Overall, Bonefish had a great atmosphere, friendly service, and good food. With many seasonal specials to try, we will unquestionably be back to experience more!

With two locations on Long Island, one in Rockville Centre & the other in Lake Grove, why not try Bonefish Grill out for yourself!  Tell them the “LiMamas” sent you & be sure to share your “review” of the place with us!
