Back to School Activities (for Moms)

momlogicIt’s time for the kids to go back to school!!!

Are you as happy as the dancing gorilla that has gone viral on Facebook or are you singing about back to school like the Holderness family? The kids are gone and you’re alone to do anything you want!

So what will you do with your newfound freedom to keep busy while they are gone?We have some great ideas to keep you busy and the tears at bay when the kids start classes.

Spend time with friends!   Has it been a while since you have been able to have an adult conversation without little ears around? Plan a brunch or meet for coffee at a nearby restaurant to catch up with your friends.

Spend time on you!   Whether it be starting a new workout regimen at a local gym, taking a few aerobic classes or walking around the neighborhood use some of this time to get yourself healthier. Added benefit… exercise makes you happier, which we can all use to help with the homework situation.

Spend a day at the spa   Maybe get a massage, a facial, or even a manicure and pedicure to take the back to school blues away.

Play Catch Up   Use the time to catch up on errands and chores so you can enjoy the rest of the day with the kids when they return home from school.

AND don’t forget the younger siblings!!!! Enroll in a local Mommy and Me program, visit library programs, take a music class or anything else you would like! Take advantage of the time to create some special mother daughter/son moments.
