Looking for something your Elementary School child can do this summer? Want him/her to make new friends and have fun? Then check out Friendly Kids, a new, social skills and friendship group that will provide a nurturing environment where your child can participate in fun-filled playdates while building their confidence and self-esteem.
Friendly Kids is designed to help children BUILD problem solving skills, assertiveness, anger management skills, and the ability to work cooperatively in a group.
It will also help them LEARN how to initiate successful conversations, how to overcome shyness and social anxiety, how to recognize non-verbal social cues, and how to develop and maintain healthy friendships.
Lastly it will allow them to ENGAGE in improvisational comedy games, role playing, board games, arts and crafts and many other fun-filled activities.
Friendly Kids will meet at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenlawn, Monday through Thursday 10:00-11:30 AM, between July 7th to August 21st. The group is facilitated by Carrie Taibi, a licensed Long Island social worker who has spent 17-years teaching social skills, to both typical and special needs children.
OPEN HOUSE: Friendly Kids is offering several open houses so that you can see their program first hand. The dates are: Saturday, June 14th: 10am-Noon & Saturday, June 28th: 10am-Noon
