It’s Valentine’s Day! There is nothing better than crafts and baking with your family on a holiday. Here are a few fun Valentine’s activities for kids to spend the day with your little Valentines. This fun art project from Martha Stewart is sure to show the love around the house. Colored wax paper (made by ironing crayons on wax paper) will be cut into colorful, translucent hearts and hung as a sun catcher or taped on the window.
Folding Stick Valentine
With just a few craft sticks, tape, paint, markers and ribbon you can make this adorable folding stick Valentine card. This is a super easy craft for the kids to do with a little help. Continue celebrating Valentines Day on Saturday Feb 15 at Michaels Kids Club where kids will make their very own heart painting. Sessions start at 10, 10:30 and 11:00. Cost is $2. Ages 3 and up. Find Michaels locations on Long Island through the store locator.
Heart Shaped Cinnamon Buns
Follow any cinnamon bun recipe then use this creative technique shown here by Poppies at Play to make this incredible heart shaped bun perfect for Valentine’s Day. The kids will have a blast helping you roll them up! This would be great for a special breakfast or dessert.
Heart Shaped Brownies with White Chocolate and Fresh Raspberry Ganache
Bake a batch of your favorite brownies and cut unto heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Place a little (or a lot!) of ganache in between 2 brownies and enjoy. For a simpler method use strawberry ice cream in the place of the ganache.
Puppy Love Hot Dog
This appealing heart shaped hot dog on linguini with cheese beats any other cupid arrow. These make a wonderful meal for the kids to prepare and enjoy.
