Huntington Village boasts many locally-owned restaurants in this family friendly area. Wide sidewalks make Main St. and its surrounding area very walkable for strollers and groups of kids. When looking for a bite to eat with little ones in tow, here are five of my favorite kid friendly restaurants in Huntington Village.
The owner of this restaurant, the mother of three children, really understands what kids like. Located near the roundabout by the Huntington Post Office, Blondees Bistro offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fun menu. Kids items include names such as Goldilocks Pancakes (confetti pancakes or waffles), Big Bird (single egg any style with home fries and Italian toast) and Rapunzel’s Chicken Fingers (traditional homemade chicken fingers). During the warmer months patrons can enjoy their meals at tables on the sidewalk.

This classic diner on Main St. is a favorite for everyone from toddlers through senior citizens. Grab a seat in a booth and order off of its huge menu serving breakfast (all day), lunch and dinner. The kids menu includes all the favorites like cheeseburgers, chicken fingers and more. The kids meals also include a dessert, too! The food comes out quickly, a huge plus when there are hungry kids waiting.

Little Vincents has been around for decades. Kids growing up in Huntington years ago who now have families bring their own kids here. The restaurant has been voted numerous times for having the best pizza on Long Island. Located just south of Main St., the interior is simple and reminiscent of years gone by. Bright colored booths lined the room, and it’s often standing-room only. The slices come fast, fresh and affordable. Kids love their pizza, but really, their parents love it even more!

Mundays is a throwback to the good ol’ days when chocolate eggcreams and homemade pies were a staple in all family owned restaurants. The restaurant offers a huge menu of classic comfort food items from mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese to salads and soups. The kid-friendly menu offers favorites like chicken fingers and hot dogs, and kids will love sitting at the soda fountain bar. The restaurant is always decorated to the max for each holiday so kids love seeing all the fun decor (including a bigger than life Santa that sits on top of the counter during the holidays). Mundays is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Shack Clams & Chaos
This new restaurant located by the Huntington Post Office has a long history in the area. The owners are the ones that run the summer lobster rolls roadside eatery under the same name off of 25A in Centerport. Now they have a restaurant in Huntington Village opened year round in a spacious venue with decorations inspired by the sea. Though they do not have a kids menu, its regular menu offers kid-friendly items like hamburgers, beef franks, chicken fingers, fish and chips and mozzarella sticks. Parents will love the menu, too, with its lobster rolls, crab cakes, salads, burgers and sandwiches.
