Meal Assistance for Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy

If you’re in need of a meal due to displacement or lack of power from Hurricane Sandy, here are venues on Long Island offering meal assistance.

 

 

 

Red Cross Feeding Stations
Nassau County

16-ft trucks with primarily blankets, shelf-stable meals and water:

Meals:

  • Nickerson Beach Park, 880 Lido Blvd, Long Beach, NY

Suffolk County
16-ft trucks with primarily blankets, shelf-stable meals and water.

  • Mastick Fire House

Meals:

  • Riverhead County Center, 210 Evans K Griffing Dr, Riverhead, NY
  • H. Lee Dennison Building, 100 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Hauppauge, NY

Additional Venues for Meals
Emergency Relief Center at Farmingdale State College will be open through Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free daily shuttle service pick-up at these locations from 10:00-10:15 a.m., 11:30-11:45 a.m. and 1:00-1:15 p.m:

  • Gemellis Market – 115 E. Main Street, Babylon Village
  • Amityville High School – 250 Merrick Road, Amityville
  • Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Freeport Branch – 210 W. Merrick Road
  • Freeport Recreation Center – 130 E. Merrick Road, Freeport
