Ages: 1-3
Five-Minute Turkey Handprint

Materials:

  • Paper
  • Markers
  • Paint – brown, red, yellow, orange

How to Do It:

  1. Paint the palm of your kid’s hand brown
  2. Paint each finger a different color
  3. Press the painted hand on the paper
  4. Let it dry. When dried, draw legs, feet, eyes, waddle and beak with markers. Done in just minutes!

Ages: 3-5
I’m Thankful Turkey

Materials:

  • Paper
  • Markers

How to Do It:

  1. Trace your child’s hand print on a piece a paper
  2. Help color the hand print brown
  3. On the thumb, add a red waddle, eyes and beak
  4. On the wrist draw two feet
  5. On each finger, let your child write what they are thankful for
  6. Have fun

Ages: 5-7
The Thanksgiving Fall Leaves Gobbler

Materials Needed:

  • Colorful Leaves
  • Glue
  • Color construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Markers
  • Scissors

How to Do It:

  1. Go out with the kids and collect different kind of leaves
  2. Cut out a turkey body from brown construction paper and glue it to a different color construction paper.
  3. Cut out a beak and feet from orange construction paper and glue it on.
  4. Cut out the waddle with red paper and glue it on
  5. Glue on the googly eyes
  6. Add as many leaves as you want and be creative!

Ages: 7+
Thankful Message Box

Materials Needed:

  • Shoe box
  • Scissors
  • Fall decorative art supplies
  • Markers
  • Small slips of note papers
  • Pencils

How to Do It:

  1. Cut out a small slit on the top of the shoe box for papers to insert into easily
  2. Decorate the shoe box with leaves, pictures, notes or anything fall appropriate
  3. Write on top of the shoe box: “Thankful Message Box”
  4. When getting ready to sit at the table, ask each person to write a message of what he or she is thankful for, and then insert messages into the message box.
  5. At the end of the feast, read off each message, enjoy laughs and happy memories.
