Things to Do this Weekend with Kids on Long Island October 6-7

Autumn is here and the long Columbus Day weekend will help many of us prepare for cooler temperatures, giving us a chance to pack up things and head indoors. We have plenty of exciting things to do this weekend with kids on Long Island so make sure to leave time for a little R & R with the family.



Bayshore - Sagtikos Manor “Fall Festival”
The Fall Festival in Bayshore has all the traditions of a harvest festival with the added intrigue of Revolutionary War touches. It also includes self-guided house tours, cemetery tours, petting zoo, kid’s crafts, music & dancing, food and a bevy of old-fashioned festival activities. For additional fees there’s pony cart rides, pumpkin painting and more!

Bridgehampton – Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE) “Lego Club”
Children can construct works of art using thousands of Legos (donations of gently used Legos accepted).

HuntingtonHeckscher Park “The Long Island Fall Festival”
Enjoy four days of this Huntington tradition featuring a carnival, food courts, entertainment, arts, crafts, vendors, beer/wine tent, a Home Depot workshop for kids and more. There’s parking at the Huntington train station with $1 round-trip shuttle transportation to the festival.
When: Friday 3 pm-1o pm, Saturday & Sunday 11 am – 1o pm, Monday 11 am – 5 pm

OakdaleCM Performing Arts “Annabelle Broom, The Unhappy Witch”

Old Westbury Old Westbury Gardens “The Rise of the Jack O’ Lanterns”
Come and see over 5, 000 hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns light up the beautiful garden grounds. It’s festive, not creepy! The event features work by local craftsman and artists.
