Welcome to a new school year! We have your weekend set with plenty of fun things to do on Long Island this weekend with kids. From duck races to book signings and consignment shopping and BBQs, we have lots of ways to unwind from the Back-to-School rush!

Please note: Most Long Island Museums will close this weekend through next week for their annual fall “Clean Up” Please call ahead before venturing out.

Bridgehampton – Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE) “Lego Club”
Children can construct works of art using thousands of Legos (donations of gently used Lego accepted).

Center Moriches – Camp Pa Qua Tuck “44 Annual Duck Race and Duck BBQ”
Wanna buy a duck? This annual duck race and BBQ raises funds to support the advancement of the independence of children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities that attend the Camp. Attendees will enjoy bouncy rides, music, raffles, hayrides and clowns as well as the famed duck race and BBQ (fees extra).

Cold Spring Harbor - Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium “End Of Summer Wrap Up BBQ”
This special event is a way for the CSHFHA to say thank you to its members and friends with a BBQ, ice cream and raffles

Lindenhurst – Studio Theatre “Freckleface Stawberry the Musical”
This fun musical is based on Julianne Moore’s hit book about children being comfy in their own skin learning to deal with being different. It’s all about bullying, acceptance and positivity.

Old Westbury Old Westbury Gardens “Dont’ Throw It, Grow It”
Learn how to turn kitchen scraps into next year’s crops. From kitchen waste to backyard garden, all the how-to’s to reduce and reuse. Kids can learn the importance of recycling for a better earth.

Families are invited every Sunday to spend the aftern0on creating “masterpieces” while enjoying the art experience together. Includes special family-friendly gallery talks and docent-led guides. No reservations required.

Valley StreamGreen Acres Mall “How to Beat the Bully Without Really Trying”
Author and Long Island native, Scott Starkey, will be present to speak about bullying, his own personal experiences, as well as sign copies of his book. Before and during the event, kids can enjoy music, live acts, face painting, entertainment and performances.
