September Mom of the Month – Sabrina Roberts

Meet Sabrina Roberts, Long Island Mamas’s September Mom of the Month.  The mom from Holbrook, New York, has a history working in child education and is also the owner of On My Own Preschool to meet the needs of local parents and their children.

Sabrina has always loved children and always knew she wanted to make a difference in children’s lives. So during college, she majored in Child Development.

She utilized her education by working for Supportive Concepts, a state funded company which offered support to moms of children with disabilities. For her job she would travel to the homes of children or adults to assist them with life skills and more.

Her next job involved working as a manager in a home for teens who lived there and gained basic living skills in preparation for them to go out into society and live on their own.

Sabrina dreamed of opening her own preschool, and with the support of her husband Gary and one year old daughter Olivia, she bought On My Own Preschool in Miller Place.

When she first opened the school, it was only a preschool. Today Sabrina has grown her business to include a Mommy and Me program which offers fun activities as well as sign language classes for kids. With her first hand understanding of the needs of local busy parents, On My Own Preschool also offers drop off services, a Sibling and Me class, babysitting and much more.

Sabrina’s passion for helping and teaching children is evident, and she is making a difference in her community for local families. We are honored to choose her as our September Mom of the Month!
