Family Friendly Restaurants on the East End

There are many family friendly restaurants on the East End to stop for lunch or have dinner. Visiting the East End, no matter what season, is always a way to spend a day surrounded by beautiful towns, great beaches and of course, amazing fresh local food. Please note that some restaurants may be seasonal so call for current hours.

 

 

Amagansett
The Lobster Roll

The Lobster Roll is the place to eat at if heading to or from Montauk. Known for its seafood (especially the lobster salad which has been loved by patrons for almost 50 years), this is an iconic restaurants visitors should not miss. The Lobster Roll is informally known as “Lunch” and has a great casual beachy decor, nostalgic old fashioned drinks, a gluten-free menu, a family friendly atmosphere and a children’s menu with a large selection. Another Lobster Roll is located in the North Fork (see the Riverhead section below).

Montauk
Rick’s Crabby Cowboy Cafe

Known for “family, food and fun,” this waterfront restaurant welcomes children and offers a large kids menu. Lobster, seafood, BBQ as well as live music and more round out the fun. The café is also known for “crabby bakes” and touts s’mores every night!

Pizza Village
What family doesn’t like to grab a pizza after spending a long day at a Montauk beach? Pizza Village is right in town and offers a casual setting, specialty pizzas, and traditional Italian-American food. It’s a great place to bring the kids.

Navy Beach
Navy Beach is a laid back family friendly beachfront restaurant offering prime beach seating, amazing Hampton sunsets and regional coastal fare with an emphasis on fresh seafood and local produce. A signature dish is the Navy Burger with Cabot cheddar, onion bacon marmalade, house pickles and hand cut fries.  A kids menu is available.

Greenport
Front Street Station

Front Street Station welcomes children and is right in the heart of beautiful Greenport. From seafood to pasta and light fare to burgers, there is something for everyone including for the kids.

Riverhead
Jerry and the Mermaid

Right next to the Long Island Aquarium and close to the Riverhead Tanger outlets is Jerry and the Mermaid restaurant. Dine indoors or outside with beautiful views. The restaurant offers a kids menu with typical choices like chicken fingers plus a not-so-typical choice of baked tilapia. The restaurant will even take special requests for healthier meals.

The Lobster Roll – North Fork
The Lobster Roll in North Fork is in the Baiting Hollow Commons and is a popular stop for North Fork day-trippers. There’s a small wooden climbing playground where the kids can unwind as while parents finish an after dinner drink or coffee. Burgers, sandwiches, steaks and of course, the famous lobster roll are just some of the selections at this restored country farmhouse. The Lobster Roll offers a kids menu. There’s even a pet-friendly seating area and a few pretty small stores to peruse after eating a meal.

Hampton Bays
Cowfish Hampton Bays

Cowfish Hampton Bays offers indoor and outdoor seating and even a nice wooden pirate play ship for the kids. The restaurant uses fresh local ingredients to make simple affordable dishes that are also family friendly. Bonus: the views from the outdoor upper deck are beyond incredible!
