Outdoor music festivals are staples of summer on Long Island. Great for family outings or date nights, these concerts are within everyone’s budget (they’re free!). On any given evening, families can find different genres filling the air. Bring lawn chairs and come early to ensure the family gets the best seat in the house. We’ve put together a handy guide to summer outdoor music festivals on Long Island for this summer.

Albertson – Clark Botanic Garden
Listen to beautiful music in an enchanted garden setting. The 12 acre living museum and educational facility is the perfect setting for a night of music. Voluntary donations accepted.
When: Tuesdays, July and August. All shows are at 7 pm except 7/14 (10:30 am).

Commack – Tanger Outlets at the Arches
After a long day of shopping for great bargains, sit, relax, and enjoy the tunes. Concerts are held at the Arches Fountain. The concert features some well known musicians including former American Idol Kris Allen.
When: Starting June 9, select Saturday nights, 6 pm-8pm. Bring your own seating.

Huntington – Heckscher Park
Every year the Huntington Arts Councils holds the Summer Arts Festival in Huntington. This year will be its 47th year. Its location in Heckscher Park is perfect for families as it has a playground, bathroom facilities, a pond, and an ice cream truck all near the concert stage.
When: Daily, June 22 through August 11, 8:30 pm (except Saturday, 6/30 at 8 pm and Tuesday Family Nights at 7:30 pm)

Jones Beach – Boardwalk Bandshell
A Nassau County tradition, spend an evening listening to music, watching the sunset, and strolling along the boardwalk. Sponsored by Walk 97.5.

Kings Park – Russ Savatt Park
Start the weekend with a relaxing night out. The Musical Moments series will have 11 total performances throughout the summer and will be held at Russ Savatt Park. Stores are open late for the ambitious shopper.

Lindenhurst – Village Square Park
Located in the heart of Lindenhurst Village, music is accessible to all residents throughout the summer. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and snacks for a memorable evening.

Montauk – Green at the Gazebo
The Monday Night concerts in Montauk are a tradition, bringing families together for a variety of music acts. Bring a blanket and chairs for comfortable seating.
When: June through August on Mondays (except Tuesday, July 5), times vary by show by typically start either at 6 pm or 6:30 pm.

Stony Brook – Stony Brook Village Green
The Ward Melville Heritage Organization organizes the annual Sunday Summer Concerts series. Performances includes genres such as country, swing, jazz, bluegrass, classic rock, and more.
