Guide to Public Pools on Long Island

With the temperatures on the rise, Long Islanders will be heading to their local pools to cool off. We’ve compiled a guide to public pools on Long Island to help families plan where to go to enjoy outdoor swimming fun this summer.

 

 

Deer ParkFabio Buttitta Pool
In addition to the main pool, families can enjoy the children’s pool and diving pool. Showers and a changing area are available too. Families can also relax on the available lounge chairs and stay cool under the shade arbor.
When:
June 23 through August 10 from 11 AM-7 PM weekends/holidays and 12 PM-8 PM weekdays. August 11 through September 3 from 11 AM-7 PM daily.
How Much: Daily admission for Town of Babylon residents is $4 for ages 3 and up.  Season passes are available for seniors, individuals and families as well.

Dix Hills – Dix Hills Park Facility

With a large main pool featuring two diving boards and a kiddie pool, families can enjoy a playground area and a concession stand to spend their summer days.
When:
June 16 through Labor Day, hours are as follows:  Monday – Friday 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Hicksville – Cantiague Park
Named by News12 Long Island viewers as “The best outdoor swimming facility on Long Island,” Cantiague Pool includes an Olympic-sized pool, two water slides, a diving pool, a kiddie pool, and a water-play area that kids will love playing in. Lockers, showers and a refreshment area are available as well.
When:
Opening June 25 through Labor Day, Monday-Sunday, 10 AM- 6 PM
How Much:
Nassau County Resident adult, $7; Resident child (4-17 years of age), $5; Non-resident adult, $25, Non-resident child, $19. Family ($225), individual ($90) and senior ($50) memberships are also available. A Leisure Pass is required for residents to receive the resident rate. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Non-Nassau county residents will be charged a $10 parking fee on weekends.

North Amityville – North Amityville Pool
With a main pool, children’s pool, and water slide, parents and kids are set for a fun day in the sun. Lounge chairs are available poolside, as are tables with umbrellas. A changing area and showers are available as well.

June 23 through August 10 from 11 AM-7 PM weekends/holidays and 12 PM-8 PM weekdays. August 11 through September 3 from 11 AM-7 PM daily.

North Babylon
Phelps Lane Pool
Offering a main pool as well as a children’s pool, interactive kiddie pool, and double water slides, Phelps Lane Pool has something for everyone in the family to enjoy.  Locker rooms, a changing area, and showers are on location. When a snack or lunch is desired there is a concession area available and tables with umbrellas to sit under and relax.
When:
June 23 through August 10 from 11 AM-7 PM weekends/holidays and 12 PM-8 PM weekdays. August 11 through September 3 from 11 AM-7 PM daily.
How Much: Daily admission for Town of Babylon residents is $6 for ages 3 and up.  Season passes are available for seniors, individuals and families as well.

North Lindenhurst – North Lindenhurst Pool
With lounge chairs and a shade canopy, parents can keep an eye on their children while they enjoy swimming in the main pool or the kiddie pool area.  There are tables available for families to have a snack or picnic lunch as well as showers and a changing area to freshen up after swimming.

June 23 through August 10 from 11 AM-7 PM weekends/holidays and 12 PM-8 PM weekdays. August 11 through September 3 from 11 AM-7 PM daily.

North Woodmere – North Woodmere Park
With an Olympic-sized pool, a diving pool, a water slide, and three pools for youngsters (a wading pool, a training pool, and a water-play area) families are bound to have a great day as they cool off. Lockers, changing areas, showers and a refreshment area are available. Lounge and deck chairs are also available for guests to enjoy.
When:
Opening June 25 through Labor Day, Monday-Friday 11 AM- 7 PM; Saturday & Sunday 10 AM- 6 PM
