Wondering what to do with your child(ren) over the upcoming spring break vacation from school? Look no further. Long Island has a variety of options for spring break camps for children, including a computer camp, soccer camp and ecology camp. Below are some of the many camps offered in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Port Washington Skating Center will be offering a mini-camp during the week of spring break. Young hockey players can work on their skating, puck-handling, and shooting. Camp runs from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm daily. Camp fees include lunch daily as well as admission to the open skating session right after. Parents can sign up for all five days or just one day.

Rolling River Holiday Camp
Camp will be held on Rolling River’s five acre campground in Oceanside. Children will be able to participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including: sports, arts & crafts, tumbling/gymnastics, Gaga, music and free play. Camp is appropriate for children up to grade 8. Camp hours are 9 am-4 pm daily with extended hours until 6 pm for an additional charge.

Spring Break Craft and Baking Camp
Camp will be held at Cupcake Corner in Garden City from 10 am to 2 pm daily. Baking projects for the week include: making and decorating sugar cookies and cupcakes, chocolate lollipops, and candy sushi. Children will also do a craft project each day, as well as dance, play games, and watch a short children’s movie. Lunch and snack are included. The camp is appropriate for children ages 4-12.

Video Game Design Fusion Studio
For children just being introduced to video game design, Hofstra University offers a week-long sampler of different classes over spring break. Children will go over the basics of Video Game Development, 3D Modeling and Animation, and Music and Sound Design. By week’s end, they will have created their own video game complete with 3D animation and music. The camp is for children in grades 4-12 and runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day; early drop-off and late pickup are offered. Camp fees include lunch and a recreation period each day.

Southampton Youth Services Spring Break Camp
Southampton Youth Services is holding a sports camp for children in grades K-6. Children can play basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, and take Karate. Camp is held from 9 am -3 pm daily. Children must bring their own lunch.

Spring Break Basketball Camp
Northsport is offering a spring break basketball camp for children in grades 3-8. The camp will run for four days from April 9-12 and will focus on improving players’ skills. Campers will work on offensive and defensive skills, ball handling, and shooting. Games will be held to help reinforce skills learned. Camp runs from 9 am to 3 pm and lunch will be available for purchase.

Spring Break Environmental Science Camp
The Suffolk County 4H program is holding a spring break version of its summer ecology camp. Attendees will be able to explore and learn about Long Island ecosystems. Also, as a part of the camp, they will design an experiment, collect data in the field, and present their findings. Campers will participate in traditional camp activities such as sports, arts & crafts, and a ropes course. This is a sleepaway camp, and campers are required to bring their own bedding. Camp runs from Monday at 9 am to Friday at 8 pm. The camp is appropriate for children ages 10 and older.

Spring Wildlife Camp
Children ages 5-11 can learn about wildlife, both plants and animals, while exploring the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. Camp includes a nature hike each day with a short snack break (snack provided by parents). Camp runs from 9 am to 12 pm, April 10-14.
