Bouncy houses, slides and jungle gyms — an indoor playground awaits little adventurers at a Wood Kingdom West birthday party. From beginning to end, it’s not just the kids that will enjoy their visit, mom and dad will too!
From the invitations to the thank you cards and everything in between (even the party favors & paper goods) it’s all included in the price of the party. The Wood Kingdom staff pride themselves on making things as easy as possible, similar to a catering hall that specializes in “one wedding at a time.” For an hour and a half the birthday child and guests are the center of attention.
From the moment people walk in, a handful of party hosts are on hand taking coats and gifts or even pointing people to the restroom. It’s these simple gestures that can help parents enjoy their own party.
The party itself starts with a personalized greeting for the guest of honor on an easel that reads “Happy Birthday + his/her name” – followed by a call-out inviting everyone into the designated “play area.” Once inside and shoes are removed (**hint: be sure to remind everyone to wear socks!), it’s play-time! Bright colored bouncy houses and oversized slides welcome party goers of all ages.
Though the room is quite large and children might not be in direct view at all times, a key “selling point” of a Wood Kingdom party is that once inside the play area, guests can take comfort knowing that there is no outside interaction with the public; anyone playing is an invited guest or a Wood Kingdom staff member.
After an hour of running around, guests are then ushered into the party room for the remaining half hour which includes pizza, cake, and an “age-appropriate” magic show. As the birthday boy/girl is blowing out the candles, the staff is packing the gifts into large plastic bags – making them easy to then be transported to the car. As guests are leaving, a party host will remind you to “settle-up” when you are ready. It’s not done in a pushy manner – just a simple reminder to pay the bill. Lastly, the staff provides an additional reminder that gratuities are not included – but again, it’s not done in a pushy manner.
Pricing varies depending on whether parents choose a weekday versus the weekend and if extras are added on (a visit from a character, personalized favors, additional food for the adults), so be sure to contact Wood Kingdom for details. Wood Kingdom also has additional sites in Medford and Coram that offer birthday parties (please visit www.woodkingdomeast.com for information on those locations).
