Art League of Long Island
As part of its Young Artists program, special needs children can feel, see, and explore in workshops designed to foster creativity and confidence. Classes range from drawing and painting to sculptures and crafts.

Camp Bright Star
Campers with various developmental disabilities can participate in a caring and comprehensive program that includes swimming, sports, arts and crafts, music, creative arts, and trips. Kids can also attend special events such as carnivals, camp plays, talent shows, and picnics. The camp is open to both boys and girls who are able to function in a group environment without one-to-one assistance. Includes free bus transportation for Huntington residents only.

Camp Horseability promotes the physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual well being of its special needs participants by applying horse-related techniques. The non-profit organization also offers a Therapeutic Riding Program and Hippotherapy Program. Kids can enjoy on-site swimming, horseback riding, indoor/outdoor sports, arts and crafts, and more. Gersh Academy at West Hills Day Camp
For kids diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and other related neurobiological problems, this camp offers swimming, sports, rock climbing, mini-golf and more.

Gold Medal Gymnastics Center Special Needs Class
Gold Medal Gymnastics Center welcomes children with intellectual and physical challenges. Many of its staff have experience working in special needs education and strive to create a program to help build self-esteem, self-confidence, and physical fitness in a caring and fun environment. All three of the Center’s locations offer a multitude of classes open to all children. Note that only the Centereach location schedules the low ratio gymnastics program for specifically special needs individuals (max ratio is 4:1).

My SHINE Horseback Riding
My Shine equestrian program serves individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding sessions. Riders have consisted of individuals on the autism spectrum as well as those with Down Syndrome, Fragile X-Syndrome, mild forms of Cerebral Palsy, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, emotionally fragile, hearing- and-vision-impaired, and low muscle tone.
Age Group: 3+ years old

The Spirit of Huntington Art Center
Staff at this nurturing art center is specially qualified to bring out the best in children with special needs. Each teacher either has his or her own special needs or has a child with special needs.
