Fun Veterans Day Activities in Long Island

11/11/11 is not just a really cool date; it also happens to be Veterans Day – a federal holiday, meaning your kids will be off from school. What should you do with them?

Here are some options:




Decorate  Fall Cookies for Kids

When: 10:30am-noon. Kids will decorate a variety of fall-shaped cookies using fondant and icing. $30 per person. Call to make reservations. Teens can come by from 1-3pm and learn how to create custom fondant decorations that they can take home to use. All supplies are included, as well as a snack and beverage. $39 per person. East Rockaway

Help create ornaments for Long Island’s Festival of Trees

Write letters to the men and women of the armed forces
