Some parents prefer going to stores to Trick or Treat, instead of houses. But that brings a dilemma: on the one hand, you want your kids to get the most “bang for their buck” and collect as much free candy as possible. On the other hand, if they end up going to stores that hand out candy, they might get distracted by the merchandise and may end up getting less candy as a result…here are a few great areas with stores that give out candy:
Cold Spring Harbor
Cold Spring Harbor, NY 11724
Participating merchants will be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Huntington, NY 11743
From 11am-6pm village merchants will pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. At 4pm there will be a Children’s Halloween parade that will begin from Gerard Street until the intersection of Wall Street and Main Street.
Northport, NY 11768
From 1-4pm participating businesses will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
The main street decorates their storefronts as well as host a trick or treating day for the children.
Main street, Sayville
Stony Brook Village Center
Main Street on the Harbor
Starting from 2pm all 20 boutiques at the village center will be handing out candy. There will also be free mini pumpkins, games and activities for kids, a costume parade and much more.
