Product Review: Le Cordon Bleu Collection from Wusthof

by Maytal Wichman

If you cook as much as I do, you know that a good knife is invaluable. I was recently given two knives from  Wüsthof “Le Cordon Bleu Collection” to review. The first was a 3.5 inch paring knife and the other was an 8 inch cook’s knife. They are a part of a block set which is being relaunched by Wüsthof just in time for the holidays. This patent-pending collection was originally designed in collaboration with chefs from Le Cordon Bleu and is 30 percent lighter than the best-selling Classic Collection.

What I liked about it: This is the real deal. They cut evenly, are easy to handle and are so precise, you can cut a very soft tomato and still get even, beautiful slices, as opposed to mushy ones when using other knives.

What I didn’t like about it: Even though this collection is 30 percent lighter, the cook’s knife still felt heavy to me as I was slicing the tomato.

Bottom Line: These knives make cutting enjoyable and will be a great gift for the holidays – they are efficient, practical and will make any home cook very happy. They are available exclusively at Amazon and include a wide assortment of items, including the 7-Piece Block Set (suggested retail $299.99).

The opinions are my own. I was not paid to write this review but I did receive the two aforementioned knives.
