Guide to Christopher Morley Park

Looking for a large Nassau County park that offers 3 pools, a large playground complex, tennis courts, multiple athletic fields, a golf course, a dog run AND an ice rink?  Then check out Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn.

I visited the park recently with my boys and a few of their friends and were really pleased with what we found.  The boys were a range of 8 years old to 11 years old.  Their favorite parts of the park was the new playground complex and the multiple diving boards.

The Playground
The playground at Christopher Morley was revamped with all new equipment and play surfaces  last year.  It is located right down the steps from the pool area.  The playground is divided into several areas designed for different ages of play.  New padding was placed under the equipment to insure safety upon landing.  There are several shaded scenic places to watch your children play, as well as a gazebo to keep yourself from the hot summer sun.  There is also a small snack bar outside of the play area as well as restrooms.

The Pool
The pool complex at Christopher Morley, which is a short walk from the parking lot, features several pools. There is a large pool with a specially designed area for laps,  a kiddie pool for your toddlers and a separate pool for diving.  There are two diving boards for you to jump your heart out.  There were restroom and changing areas conveniently located inside the pool area.  There were no food and drinks allowed on the pool deck, but there was a small area with picnic tables’ right outside the pool gate.  There is only a small area of shade inside the pool area, so don’t forget to pack your sunscreen!

Other Features

There is also a dog run, which is a large fenced in area, where your little furry friend can roam free and socialize.

Every Wednesday morning, there is a farmer’s market selling local produce.

Christopher Morley Park is open all year, with water activities in the summertime and ice skating  for the winter time.

The park is located just off the Long Island Expressway on Searingtown Road, Roslyn.
