Family Guide to Westbury

“We’re bored and there’s nothing to do!”  Are your kids preaching this famous summer quote yet??  Come visit the Village of Westbury and its surrounding areas. Westbury is a small town in the heart of Nassau County.  It’s short ride into New York City as well as to some of Long Island’s beautiful beaches.

Here is a quick guide to activities for families and children of all ages:

Eisenhower Park

A 930 acre oasis of open space and recreation in the heart of Nassau County, Eisenhower Park is one of the largest public spaces in the area.  This park offers a full range of family activities, including miniature golf, athletic fields and courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, fitness trails, swimming pool and summertime entertainment (which includes movies at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre and the summer concert series)

Westbury Music Fair

An entertainment center that is known for its fun.  It has a comfortable 3000 seats for people to sit as they enjoy the presentations of the top performers in the entertainment industry.  It offers a wide variety of events from Huey Lewis and the News and Neil Sedaka to Cinderella and the Wizard of Oz.

Westbury Memorial Public Library

This library, besides offering a top-notch collection of books, has games, puzzles, movie nights, teen nights, and video game rentals.  There are also summer events such as a Lego club (pre-registration is required).

Dave & Busters

A game and bar venue that lets you escape and play.  It’s the only place with a restaurant that serves everything from wings to steak, a bar with the best happy hour and a game room filled  with the latest interactive and video games.  It also features billiards and bowling.
