Movie Review: Winnie The Pooh

A whole new generation will get to know Winnie the Pooh and his friends in Disney’s new movie, “Winnie The Pooh”.  It stars our favorite little bear, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo, and Eeyore (who could really use some Vitamin D to elevate his mood!). The friends who go on a funny quest to save Christopher Robin from the BackSun (which is an imaginary monster) — there’s a funny misunderstanding that leads them to believe this. There’s a subplot about Eeyore losing his tail. Poor Pooh only wants some honey (boy, does he LOVE his honey), but he has to help save his friend (and help Eeyore find his tail).Inspired from 3 stories from A.A. Milne’s books, I liked how the text from the book was used in an interesting way. Actress Zooey Deschanel sings one of the songs. Children will really enjoy the movie (it’s got some funny parts and musical numbers) and parents will smile and remember why they loved Winnie the Pooh and friends when they were little.

“Winnie the Pooh” hits theaters on July 15, 2011. To see a preview, click here.
