Indoor Fun at Active Kidz on LI

Active Kidz – the name says it all. There are many areas to pique your child’s interests, from laser tag to rock climbing climbing to navigating a huge maze or target shooting with air cannons.  Most of the attractions have an attendant overlooking the group to ensure safety.  We can highly recommend Active Kidz — my three kids tried 5 out of the 7 attractions. They had a wonderful time and were exhausted by the time we left.  Make sure your child wears socks and sneakers. No outside food is allowed. The play areas are spacious, well maintained and very clean. For a full list see our list of Long Island’s Indoor Playspaces here.

Adventure Maze and Toddler Area:
This 4 level maze (the largest indoor maze on long island) has slides, rope walls, bridges and pathways to maneuver through to reach the top.  There is a ½ wall partition that separates the Toddler area from the maze area. Ages 4 and under are allowed in this padded area. Children can climb on a large pirate ship with a slide, crawl through a tunnel, and explore. PARENTAL SUPERVISION is required for this area. Shoe cubbies line the back wall and ample seating is available. You’re going to have to sign a waiver to make sure your kids follow the rules while in this area.

Arcade area:
19 arcade games are available to play with the swipe of a card. There is a one-time fee of $2 for the card which you keep and can add money to at any time. Tickets are dispensed from the games to trade in for prizes. PARENTAL SUPERVISION is required for this area.

Bounce Room:
3 large inflatables with obstacles, slides, a race course and bridge are in their own room. A staff attendant is on each bouncy to ensure safety.  Shoe cubbies and ample seating are available in the room for onlookers.  Socks are required on all inflatables.

Cannon Balls:
My kids had a blast in this room; firing small foam nerf balls from air cannons at targets or opponents. With a swipe of the game card, this 10 minute game of cannon fire is a real blast. Protective goggles are provided and must be worn. 8 cannons area available in this staff supervised room. The cannons are pushed aside to transform this room into a disco dance party with lights for parties.

Lazer Frenzy:
This is A NEW ATTRACTION which allows you to pretend you are in Mission Impossible trying to navigate through the lasers without touching them. A large viewing screen is placed above the entrance so your friends can watch you inside this game.

Laser Tag:
Staff attendants will be supervising in the laser room. This spacious, battleground allows kids to use their imaginations and battle the opposing team or the Warbot, who may just return fine on them when they aren’t looking.  40 vests and laser guns (20 red and 20 blue) are available to combat the Terminator and Warbot to accumulate points for your team. Playing in this war zone is a great way for kids to get exercise without even knowing. Players must be 6 years old or meet the height requirement of 48 inches to play.

Rock Climbing:
Kids, under the supervision of a staff member, can climb this 30 foot long wall, traversing across and up for a challenge.  There is a mat the length of the wall in place for extra safety. Older kids can climb a 20 foot tall wall that is shaped like a replica of a cliff with beginner, intermediate and expert courses.
